Dr. Kishen Nara is an accredited surgical fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine being highly skilled in aesthetic surgery.  He has substantial experience in cosmetic medicine and surgery being trained by cosmetic and plastic surgeons both locally as well as internationally. He is dedicated to the synergy of skill, psychology and science. He contributes significantly to improving high-quality techniques in cosmetic medicine and surgery both locally and internationally.  The extensive training and experience maximises patient outcomes with a sole focus of patient safety and care.  Dr. Nara had topped Australia at the cosmetic board examinations held in the United States of America.

Dr Nara's approach to his patients involves being informative, realistic, honest and balanced.  He is an international speaker at the International Master Course on Ageing Science in Paris and Bali being one of the largest cosmetic conferences for cosmetic medicine and surgery.

His dedication to cosmetic academia, research and volunteer-aid work helps him to understand your respective goals and interests from a broad perspective.

 

Dr. Nara has 19 years of medical and surgical experience in both public and private entities.

 

He is a fully qualified medical practitioner graduating from Monash University in 2006. 

 

In 2007, he won the intern of the year award for excellent communication skills awarded by Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne.

 

In 2008, Dr. Nara was an anatomy demonstrator at his alma mater Monash University in Melbourne that enabled him to nurture and master the foundations of anatomy.  During this time, he was also a clinical tutor to the medical students under his supervision. 

 

Dr. Nara enjoys being actively involved in the surgical community having had completed surgical rotations in a variety of surgical disciplines namely general surgery, orthopaedics, vascular, neurosurgery and plastic surgery.  Pertinent to this was the teamwork collaboration between the surgical units, intensive care, anaesthetics, and medical teams at major trauma units such as at the Alfred Hospital, Dandenong Hospital and Nambour Hospital. He undertook a one-year fellowship Master of Surgery at Monash University in 2009 to research on adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder.

 

Besides enjoying the operations he was actively involved in the education of medical students in Melbourne, Queensland and Tasmania in their respective clinical schools.  In 2013 he won the Student’s Award for excellence in clinical teaching.  Dr. Nara is always active with quality assurance of the respective surgical units.

 

In addition, having successfully awarded completion of advanced surgical courses by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons allowed him to better understand the implications of medical conditions on critically ill surgical patients with regards to life saving management plans collaboratively with various teams.  Some courses involve CRISP, ASSET and EMST.


Being a researcher, he also completed the CLEAR statistics course awarded by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

 

After Australian public hospital work, he underwent formal training in cosmetic surgery with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine where the rotations at private day surgeries and private hospitals spanned across Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Melbourne.  Through rigorous training from cosmetic and plastic surgeons, he complimented his aesthetic skills. 

His passion about the synergy between skill and science commenced at an early age.  He is well established in music and completed a grade 8 in piano and participated in choirs. He also plays the guitar and loves the environment.

 

He is an active participant in various local and international cosmetic and scientific conferences (Australia, New Zealand, France, United States, Malaysia, and India) which helps him better understand patients with varying respective backgrounds. Here he enjoys learning, discussing cases and teaching.


Dr. Nara is also a reserve Officer in the Australian Army Reserves where discipline, organisation and teamwork is vital to our country.

Prior to this, he had undertaken various clinical rotations at hospitals in Melbourne and South East Asia. He was actively involved in community service with Anglicare Victoria for 1 year as well as Mission Hope in Borneo island. He lead the improvement of adolescent patients both socially and especially academically.

 

Dr. Nara focuses on a bespoke patient-centred approach for each unique case so that a comprehensive assessment is delivered to understand your goals. He enjoys consults with patients to discuss treatment options to help you understand and be confident in your aesthetic journey whether you have no treatment or consider a particular cosmetic treatment after having made an informed decision.
