- 01'Full body liposuction' and 'lipo 360' are marketing shorthand, not a single defined operation. They generally describe treating multiple areas, often circumferentially around the torso, in a way that a single-area procedure does not.
- 02The number of areas treated is the single biggest driver of scope. Four areas is a longer, more involved operation than one area, and the anaesthetic and facility requirements generally change as a result.
- 03Operating time scales with area count and tissue volume, not with a flat per-area multiplier. Some combinations are efficient to treat together, others are not, and only a face-to-face assessment can say which applies to you.

04Why quotes vary so much across Australia

Patients researching this topic often go looking for a single national average figure. It does not meaningfully exist, because the operation itself is not standardised. These are the drivers worth understanding instead.
- 01Number of areas and anatomical scope: the same driver as any liposuction quote, magnified by the fact that 'full body' by definition involves more than one region.
- 02Anaesthetic approach: local anaesthesia with sedation suits smaller combinations; larger multi-area work is more often done under general anaesthesia in an accredited facility. The anaesthetic type changes both safety profile and cost, and it is not always disclosed in a headline figure.
- 03Facility accreditation: an accredited hospital, a day-procedure centre, and an in-rooms theatre are not interchangeable, and larger multi-area operations generally require a higher-accreditation facility regardless of which state you are in.
- 04State-based facility and anaesthetist market rates: theatre time, anaesthetist fees and day-surgery costs are not uniform across Australia, so the same clinical plan can be quoted differently in Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide or elsewhere, independent of the doctor's own fee.

What the published guides actually say
Several Australian clinics publish indicative cost guides. Read side by side they do not agree, and the size of the disagreement is the most useful thing about them. The figures below are the range across those published guides, retrieved on 18 September 2026. They are not RevAesthetic's fees and none of them is a quote. They are also not directly comparable with each other. The guides state different bases: one lists hospital, anaesthesia, medication, garments and tests among the costs associated with the procedure while telling readers to check what any quote includes, and another states the operator's fee alone with anaesthesia and aftercare additional.

A single area is quoted between roughly $3,000 and $8,000 depending on which guide you read, which is a spread of more than two and a half times for the same words. The guides also stop agreeing with each other as the number of areas rises: one puts three areas at $6,500 to $8,000 while another puts the same three areas above $15,000.
That is not carelessness on their part. The guides are measuring different things. Some count the abdomen as one area and some count upper and lower abdomen separately. Technique changes theatre time, and theatre time is billed. This is why the figure that matters is the itemised written quote you are given after assessment, and why we set out what a liposuction quote actually includes line by line.

05Staged sessions versus one long operation
A clinical decision:

Why would a doctor stage the procedure instead of doing everything in one session?
Anaesthetic time and blood loss both scale with the volume of tissue removed and the number of areas treated in one sitting. Beyond a certain point, staging the procedure over two operations several months apart is generally the safer clinical choice, not a compromise. This is a decision for your face-to-face consultation, not something a website can answer in the abstract.
Does staging cost more overall than one long session?
It can, because two separate operations each carry their own facility and anaesthetist fee. It can also be the only realistic path for a larger combination of areas, in which case comparing it to a single-session quote for a smaller scope is not a fair comparison. This is exactly the kind of like-for-like question worth asking directly at consultation.
Does staging mean a longer overall recovery?
Generally yes, because you are recovering from two operations rather than one, with a gap between them. Some patients prefer this because each individual recovery period is shorter and less demanding. Others prefer one longer operation and one longer recovery. Neither is right or wrong. It depends on your circumstances, your work commitments and what Dr Nara assesses as clinically appropriate for you.
06How to read any clinic's full body liposuction quote

- 02Confirm the anaesthetic type in writing. A quote that does not specify local, sedation or general anaesthesia is incomplete.
- 03Confirm the facility and its accreditation status. This matters more, not less, as the number of areas treated increases.
- 04Ask directly whether the quote assumes one session or a staged approach, and what the total cost looks like under each scenario.
- 05Ask what follow-up is included and for how long, and what the practice's revision policy is.
- 06Get it in writing. A verbal range at a first meeting is not the same document as the itemised written quote the Medical Board of Australia framework requires at the second consultation.

It requires that patients receive a written, itemised quote at the second consultation, before any deposit or commitment to proceed, followed by a seven-day cooling-off period during which the decision to proceed sits entirely with the patient. Any practice, in any state, that asks for a deposit before providing a written quote is operating outside the framework.
