Procedure · Adelaide

Hymen repair in Adelaide.

Dr Kishen Nara consults on hymen repair at the Henry Rooms in Stepney, on selected dates throughout the year. Bookings are arranged confidentially by Cate or Jenny, and a Zoom consultation can be the first appointment if you would prefer not to walk into the rooms cold.

The conversation

Private, confidential, and on your terms

A hymen repair consultation in Adelaide is private and unhurried. Bookings are handled by Cate or Jenny, both female members of our team. The Adelaide visit cadence means in-person consultations are scheduled around Dr Nara's selected dates at Stepney. Many patients begin with a Zoom consultation — particularly if the in-person travel would be difficult to time, or if walking into the rooms cold would feel uncomfortable; that is straightforward to arrange.

When the in-person consultation happens, it is held in a separate examination room with a chaperone present. The conversation comes first, the examination second, and the discussion of options third. You do not have to disclose reasons; you do not have to justify the procedure to us. You will be asked, gently, what you are considering and what outcome would feel like enough.

A formal cooling-off period applies between consultation and any cosmetic procedure, in line with Medical Board of Australia guidelines. A second medical opinion is encouraged at any stage.

Coming to Stepney

A practical note on the rooms

The Henry Rooms sit on Nelson Street, Stepney, in Adelaide's inner east. The address was chosen for discretion and parking — the street is quiet, parking is straightforward, and the rooms are away from busier inner-city footfall. Patients travel to Stepney from across metropolitan Adelaide — Norwood, Kent Town, Burnside, Walkerville, Glenside, Magill, Marryatville, North Adelaide, Prospect, Unley, Parkside, Hyde Park, Malvern, Mile End, Henley Beach, Glenelg, Brighton, the Adelaide Hills and the foothills — and from regional South Australia, including the Barossa, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Port Pirie and Whyalla, when the visit dates align.

The Stepney location is well-served by major arterial roads from the south, north and east. For patients coming from further afield, Adelaide Airport is a short drive away. If you need help planning a same-day visit, reception can advise.

Procedures themselves are performed at accredited Australian hospital facilities. Depending on the procedure and your circumstances, this may be in South Australia or interstate; Dr Nara will discuss this with you at consultation.

The procedure, in brief

Hymen repair, plainly explained

Hymenoplasty (hymen repair) is surgery to restore the structural tissues of the hymen. The technique used depends on individual anatomy and the patient's specific circumstances; Dr Nara will explain the options at consultation. The procedure is generally performed under general anaesthesia at an accredited Australian hospital facility.

A full clinical overview, including the risks specific to hymen repair, is on the hymen repair pillar page. The hymen repair patient resources hub carries the longer-form companion notes on what the consultation involves, what recovery looks like, and the cultural and personal context many patients carry into the conversation.

Cosmetic surgery carries risks. These are discussed openly at consultation, in the context of your circumstances. The risks of surgery page gives a fuller factual overview.
