A breast implants consultation with Dr Nara in Melbourne is generally an hour. The structure is the same at the Chadstone rooms as it is at our other clinics: a private examination room, a chaperone present, the conversation paced by you. Dr Nara will examine the anatomy, measure tissue thickness and chest dimensions, and explain implant type options — round versus teardrop (anatomical), smooth versus textured, the volume range that suits your frame, and the pocket plane (under the muscle, dual plane, or above the muscle).
Most Victorian breast augmentation patients consult at Chadstone, which sits inside the shopping centre precinct with on-site parking throughout the complex. The waiting area is quiet and the consultation rooms are separate from the public footfall. Many patients bring a partner, sister or friend to the second consultation — this is welcome.
A second consultation is commonly arranged before any commitment to a procedure. A formal written cooling-off period applies between consultation and any cosmetic procedure, in line with Medical Board of Australia guidelines. A written quote — when one is provided — is itemised: doctor's fee, anaesthetist, theatre, implants, consumables, follow-up. Dr Nara is a cosmetic doctor — private health insurance and Medicare rebates do not apply. There are no package deals.

Implant selection that fits the patient
Breast augmentation with implants involves placing a TGA-approved breast implant under the breast tissue and / or pectoralis major muscle to add volume and shape. The decision points are individual — implant type (round vs teardrop), surface (smooth vs textured), volume (commonly between 245cc and 450cc, occasionally outside this range), incision (inframammary, periareolar), and pocket plane (subglandular, dual plane, or submuscular). The right combination depends on your existing tissue, your goals, and your anatomy.
